- Capture your property and notice details30 min
Find the figures on your notice — it may be titled Notice of Appraised Value (Texas), TRIM notice (Florida), or Notice of Assessed Value (California). Counties name these differently and some print a mailing date where a deadline should be, so record every figure before touching the county website — every later step in this playbook reads from this sheet.
Fields to locate:
- Assessed or appraised value — what the county says the home is worth.
- Taxable value — assessed value minus exemptions, if shown separately.
- Effective tax rate — tax amount shown ÷ taxable value × 100.
- Property ID — the parcel or account number.
- Printed deadline and notice date — both, even if they look identical.
