- Check whether anyone in the household already receives Lifeline15 min
Lifeline allows one discount per household, and the FCC defines a household as people who live together and share income and expenses — related or not.
Do the check:
- List every adult who lives in the home and shares money and bills with you.
- Ask each one directly whether they already get a Lifeline discount on any phone or internet account.
- Look through the household phone and internet bills for a line item named “Lifeline” or “Universal Service Fund discount”.
- If no one has it, the household is free to apply.
