Count the serviceable pools in your radius

This step produces the pool map the whole plan stands on: 100 or more residential pools within a two-mile radius of your home base, each recorded with the service-company sticker on its pump or filter — that sticker names your competition — plus gate access and cover type. The count decides whether this radius can feed a 50 to 70 pool route at all, so it happens before a dollar is spent. The number you carry out of this step tells you to continue, widen, or move.
- Draw a two-mile radius around your home base in Google Maps; split the circle into four or five street-based quadrants and save the map to your phone.
- Drive every street in one quadrant per outing, slowly, and note the address of each pool you can confirm from the street.
- For each pool, record the sticker name on the pump or filter, gate access (open, keypad, locked, community gate), and cover type (none, mesh, solid).
- Enter every address in a spreadsheet, one row per pool, with a column for each fact; keep it on your phone for the next step.
- Total the count: under roughly 100, widen to a three-mile radius or move the base and re-drive before anything else.
