- List every candidate location in your city2 hours
This step produces the scored list of 20–40 candidate sites in your city that everything else in the plan is tested against. The trap: turnkey sellers hand you their own “vetted locations” as part of the package — this list is built by you, from your own city, so the demand test measures your sites, not their pitch.
A plausible site passes all three tests: a captive daily audience — people who wait: offices with 50+ staff, gyms, laundromats, auto shops, salons, clinics, warehouses; no existing vending machine; and someone on site with the authority to say yes.
Build the list:
- Mark the zones you already know — business parks, industrial strips, the gym and laundromat clusters — on a map of your city.
- For each site record: business name and address, the owner or manager's name, opening hours, and one line on why the traffic could feed a machine.
- Score each site 1–5 on the three tests and keep the 20–40 with a plausible story.
- Sort by score — the top ten are the call list for the next step.
The step costs nothing beyond your own driving or walking time.
