    Every state runs a public license lookup — California’s is the CSLB “Check a License” search, Texas uses the TDLR, Florida the DBPR. Search by license number if you have it, otherwise by business or owner name, then open the license detail page.

    1. Open the lookup and search by license number or business name.
    2. Read the status line: active, suspended, or expired.
    3. Find the bond entries: surety company, bond amount, and effective dates.
    4. Save a dated screenshot or PDF of the page that shows both license status and bond.
