Start a wash-and-fold pickup and delivery route

Test whether your city will pay for this

  1. Survey households in two target neighborhoods
    1 hour 30 min

This step produces the written evidence that demand exists: a list of at least 20 households across two neighborhoods you can actually serve, each with its weekly laundry volume in pounds, what it spends on laundry today, and a yes, no, or maybe on paying for pickup-and-fold. The trick is that a polite yes is not data. The gate is not how many people like the idea — it is how many can name a price they would pay.

Ask the same four questions at every household and write the answers down on the spot, not from memory later:

    1. How many loads does this household do in a typical week? (One full washer load is roughly 8–10 lb dry.)
    2. What does that laundry cost you today — machines, detergent, or a service?
    3. Would you pay for pickup, wash-and-fold, and delivery to your door — yes, no, or maybe?
    4. If yes or maybe: what price per pound would make that a yes? Do not offer your own number first. You want their number, because it is the only one that predicts payment.
