Find buyers who will pay

  1. List 20 prospects in your test area
    1 hour 30 min

This step produces the list the whole demand test runs on: 20 named people in your test area, each reachable within a week by phone or message. The hard part is keeping it to strangers who can actually pay — people who know you answer yes to be polite, and a polite yes is the one answer this test cannot use.

Choose the test area first: the two or three neighborhoods or apartment complexes you can reach in a 20-minute drive, where you are willing to work weekends. Then fill four buckets:

    • 8 apartment renters — walk the parking lots of complexes without hose bibs or garage access; note each vehicle.
    • 5 SUV, van, or truck owners — grocery-store lots, office parks, school pickup lines.
    • 4 dog owners — dog parks and vet waiting rooms.
    • 3 small-fleet managers — landscaping companies, real-estate offices, rental branches, used-car lots. Write each of the 20 as a row with five columns: name or “resident, Building X”, vehicle, the reason they buy, the channel (phone, Nextdoor, Facebook message, in person), and the one opening line you will use. A row with no vehicle and no channel does not count toward the 20.
