   2. Find the destination state and write down its status: Member or Non-member.
   3. If it is a member, read how the compact privilege applies there — an active multistate license from a compact primary state of residence covers practice in any other compact member.
   4. Date the note: membership changes, and the map is the authority.

   Watch out“I’m licensed in a compact state, so I’m covered” skips a step: only a license marked multistate carries the privilege, and it must be issued by your primary state of residence. A single-state license from a compact member travels nowhere — practicing in a non-member state without local authority is unlicensed practice.
