Build and Rehearse an Emergency Action Plan for a Youth Sports Team

  1. List every venue and fixture your team uses
    1 hour

Pull out this season's practice calendar and game schedule and build the master list of everywhere the team goes: each practice field or court, each game venue you visit at least twice, and any building or parking area you rely on. This roster is the spine of the whole plan — every later step is walked against it, so do not let a one-off game site slip through.

Open a spreadsheet or a notebook page and add one row per venue with:

    • Facility name and street address, plus the specific field, court, or room you use
    • Days and times you are there, e.g. Tue/Thu 5:30 pm practice and Sat 9:00 am games
    • Primary facility contact — the person who answers after hours
    • Whether it is a home venue, an away venue you visit at least twice, or a one-off game site
    • What the facility provides that you count on: restrooms, water spigots, shade, parking-lot distance

Finish the row for every venue before moving on. Keep the roster where every coach can reach it — the next steps add a page of verified facts to each venue, so this list is the index.
