Build Everyday Computer Confidence in Eight Weeks Using Free Local Help

  1. Run a self-check of what you already do well

On a sheet of paper, draw three columns headed Never tried, Shaky, and Confident. Write one everyday task on each line down the left side: send a text message; check email; search the web; join a video call; take a photo and share it; fill in an online form. Put one tick in the column that matches you today. A “Never tried” tick is useful information, not a problem — the point of this guide is to move every tick toward Confident.

Now circle the three tasks you most want to learn — not the three you are best at. Write the circled words at the top of the page, numbered 1, 2, 3. That short list is your plan: every later practice session works on one of these three, so choose what would change your week the most.
