Get your FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate and fly commercially

  1. Download the FAA Part 107 study guide and sample questions
    30 min

This step produces a study folder on your computer containing the four FAA publications you will use throughout this phase: the Remote Pilot Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Study Guide (FAA-G-8082-22), the Airman Certification Standards (ACS) for Unmanned Aircraft Systems, the sample UAG knowledge test questions, and the full text of 14 CFR Part 107. Having the official sources open side by side saves you from relying on third-party summaries that may be outdated or incomplete.

    Download each document

    1. Go to faa.gov and search for the document number FAA-G-8082-22. Download the Remote Pilot Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Study Guide as a PDF.
    2. On the same results page, locate and download the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Airman Certification Standards (FAA-S-ACS-10).
    3. Return to faa.gov and search for the sample UAG knowledge test questions. The file is listed on the FAA Unmanned Aircraft Systems page — look for a link titled “UAG Sample Questions.”
    4. Open ecfr.gov and navigate to Title 14, Chapter I, Subchapter F, Part 107. Either save the full page as a PDF or copy the regulation text into a document you can search later.
    5. Create a folder on your computer named Part 107 Study Materials and place all four files inside.
