Why this matters before you look at anything else. A clean title is the foundation of every used-RV purchase. If the vehicle has a salvage, rebuilt, or flood brand — or if there’s an undisclosed lien — the unit is either illegal to register or the seller cannot transfer ownership. A VIN mismatch on any of the four locations means the vehicle has been wrecked, stolen, or reassembled from multiple donor units. Either situation is a hard stop: do not proceed until the seller resolves it, or walk away entirely.
