Launch Your Product and Win Your First Paying Customers

  1. Interview 7 potential customers to map buying criteria
    2 hours

Why 7 and what you are actually mapping: Seven short conversations is the smallest set where a pattern emerges without noise. You are not pitching. You are capturing exact wording for pains ranked by frequency, alternatives already tried and what they cost in time or money, the must-have outcome in the next 30 days, willingness to pay as a range, and the objection that would block a purchase tomorrow. Pains that appear in at least 4 of 7 interviews become the inputs for positioning, offer and pricing in the next steps.

Run the same 5 questions every time and log during the call: Use a table with columns: Name | Context | Top pain quoted | Alternative tried + cost | Desired outcome | Willingness to pay | Blocking objection. Script: 1) What are you trying to get done around [problem area] today? 2) What have you already tried and what did it cost? 3) What does a good outcome look like 30 days from now? 4) What would stop you buying a solution like this tomorrow? 5) What would you pay to make this problem disappear? Keep calls to 20 minutes, ask for permission to take notes, and stop after question 4 if they start asking about your product.
