Make one written profile for every animal in the household — a paper table or a spreadsheet, one row per pet. Columns: species, breed, age, weight, microchip number, health conditions, medications, and temperament notes (crate tolerance, noise reactions, escape risk). Add a current photo of each pet taken the same day; the photo is what a lost-pet post, a shelter intake, and the medical folder all reuse.
- Gather vet records, microchip numbers, and medication lists for each pet.
- Weigh each pet on a home scale or at the vet; write the weight to the pound.
- Fill one row per pet with all eight columns.
- Photograph each pet the same day and label the photo with the pet’s name.
