What you need first
The student is enrolled, or was recently enrolled, at a school that receives federal funds — all public schools, and private or postsecondary institutions that receive U.S. Department of Education funding. You can name a specific factual error. If the student is an eligible student, you have the student’s written consent to act, unless the student is claimed as a dependent for federal income tax purposes.
