Who it's for
Immigrants and returning residents whose education was completed outside the United States, and any foreign graduate who must prove their degree to a US employer, licensing board, or university.
About this playbook
This guide turns an overseas diploma into a US credential evaluation that employers, state licensing boards, and universities will accept. You will first pin down in writing exactly what the requester needs — report type, provider, and deadline — then assemble official transcripts, certified translations, and supporting documents. You will choose among recognized NACES and AICE member services, submit your file, and track it to a finished report. The last phase covers verifying the report, correcting errors, and building a credential package you can reuse. It does not cover visa or green card filing, bar admission, or the licensing requirements of specific professions beyond telling you where to find them.

What you need first
A completed degree from an institution outside the United States. You need access to your issuing institution or its registrar to order official transcripts, your diploma or degree certificate, and English reading ability, since US evaluators and most employers work in English. If you changed your legal name, have the name-change documents ready.
