Who it's for

People in the United States who want to become a professional truck driver and need a complete, step-by-step roadmap from eligibility through licensing. Suited for career changers, recent high-school graduates, and anyone who holds a regular driver's license and meets the basic age and medical requirements.

About this playbook

A complete path from deciding to drive commercially to holding a valid CDL and being ready to apply for jobs. This guide covers every required stage in order: passing the DOT physical, studying for and passing the CLP knowledge exams with your chosen endorsements, completing FMCSA-mandated ELDT training, practicing and passing the three-part CDL skills test, and launching your job search. It includes the decision framework for company-sponsored versus independent training and the endorsement choices that affect earning potential. It does not cover owner-operator business setup, leasing a truck, or applying for USDOT operating authority.
